KOFORIDUA Suhyen Sporting Club (KSSC) formally known as Bingy FC, a second division soccer club based at Suhyen near Koforidua in the Eastern Region has decided to put up a standard football pitch to enhance the performance of the players.

That, according to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the club, Mr. Eric Alagidede would make it possible for the club to join the elite (premier) division.

Mr. Alagidede who made this known to the Daily Graphic at Suhyen yesterday (June 9) when the management of the club briefed the Suhyenhene,
Okogyeaman Ankoma Basapon on the plans of the club said drawings of the proposed stadium documents, as well as Jerseys, were also presented to the Chief.

Some of the management members of the football club included Mr. KayKay Ezuah, International Relations, Mr. Edmund Ackah, Director, Mr. Richard Adu Gyamfi, Administrator/IT Manager, and Alhaji Alhassan Adamu aka Bingy, President among others.

Mr. Alagidede indicated that the Suhyenhene who was enthusiastic about the move had also decided to give out a vast stretch of land at Suhyen for the construction of the soccer pitch, supposed to be the best in the Eastern Region.

Mr. Alagidede said the decision to put up the modern pitch with all the required facilities would not only make the players do well but also boost their morale.

The untapped soccer talents in the area, the CEO also indicated would be unearthed to enable the players to benefit fully in the future.

“West African Football Academy (WAFA) based at Sogakope are doing well due to their first-class soccer pitch and this is what we want the Koforidua Suhyen Football Club to be”, Mr. Alagidede stated

He said a lot of soccer professionals were behind the club but their only predicament was the lack of a standard football pitch.

Mr. Alagidede was grateful to Okogyeaman Ankoma Basapon for his support.

The Suhyenhene lauded the management of the club for that initiative which according to him, would be of immense benefit to the area which currently had no such football club.

“With the upgrading of the club to a higher level will project Suhyen to Ghana and beyond of which I’m happy with. Development of Suhyen is dear to my heart and I promise to develop the area and leave a legacy behind for generations yet unborn to see”, the Suhyenhene intoned.
